Restylane/Restylane Fine Lines/PerlaneThese products are collectively known as "Fillers" and have largely replaced collagen as implants for lip and facial line smoothening. They are non-animal gels identical to a naturally occurring substance in the body (hyaluronic acid) that fill/plump out lines.
These products are produced by Q-Medesthetics in Sweden and have been used successfully in medical aesthetics (non surgical cosmetics since 1996. The "fillers" are identical to the hyaluronic acid in the body and therefore confer great benefits:
Each gel is made up of a certain particle size so that each one can be tailored for specific uses. Restylane Fine Lines is the smallest particle size gel and is used for superficial lines and wrinkles around the eyes, forehead and smile lines. Restylane is the middle particle size gel and is used for deeper lines and lip enhancements. Perlane is the largest particle size gel and is used for the deepest folds, lip, chin and cheek enhancements. Note: Often to create the desired effect a combination of the above gels is required and are given in a series of treatments and are layered i.e. biggest at the bottom of fold and smallest closest to the surface of the skin.
