What's It All About:
The popular Cathiodermie and deluxe Super Cathiodermie, have recently been superseded by Hydradermie and Hydra Plus. For anyone who's already a fan of Cathiodermie, you'll be even more impressed with this new improved version. I was intrigued to try Hydra Plus as generally I'm not a huge fan of high-tech facials, preferring a more natural approach, but this provides the perfect combination.

The Treatment:
The facial starts with a gentle exfoliating cleanser to clean the skin and remove dead skin cells aiding the absorption of products used throughout the treatment. A gel is then applied and you're given a probe to hold while rollers gently glide across the face in a slow rhythmic motion. The small rollers pass a galvanic current through to the skin that works with the gel to deep cleanse. A specialist eye and neck gel is then applied followed by further galvanic current, this time concentrating around the eye area and laughter lines.

The next step involves placing sheer gauze over the entire face. This may be unpleasant for anyone who gets slightly claustrophobic. Personally it just made me laugh at how silly I must look. A high frequency current is then used over the gauze to work on any impurities for a few minutes. This marks the end of the high-tech stuff and it's on to the pampering stage.

The gauze is removed and the skin toned, leaving it feeling remarkably clean and supple. A wonderfully soothing facial massage takes place before applying a facemask. The massage then continues on your head, neck and shoulders. My therapist cradled my head in her hands and stretched my neck out several times before working on releasing the tension in my shoulders. She then carried on to massage my hands, arms and even my ears!

Once I had been left to chill out for a few minutes and let the mask do its work the treatment was all but over. The mask was removed and a final application of toner applied followed by a touch of moisturizer.

The Verdict:
At the end of the treatment I felt so relaxed it took me a few minutes before I could sit up again. Although the first part of the treatment has lots of different things going on the second half is incredibly relaxing. My skin felt amazingly clean and re-hydrated and when I a sneaked a look in the mirror it looked wonderfully radiant too.

Favourite Products:
The treatment uses a mask and moisturizer specifically chosen by your therapist to suit your own skin type. These products can be bought to use at home if you found them particularly effective. I love the Masque Hydra Beauté, it's a great way to give your skin a quick boost in between facials.
