Reflexology is an ancient technique in which specific points on the feet - known as reflexes
- are massaged. Reflexology can help numerous disorders, including migraine,
hormonal imbalances, stress and problems with breathing, sinuses, digestion,
circulation or joints. It is exceptionally relaxing, and can lower high blood
pressure quite rapidly.
A client recently wrote to tell me that before a session, her fathers blood
pressure was 144/87 and immediately after reflexology, it had reduced to
133/75.
Reflexology can be used during pregnancy, and is often successful in overcoming
constipation, urinary frequency, low back pain and sciatica. Some midwives use
reflexology to help relieve pain and stimulate weak uterine contractions during
labour. Some research suggests it can shorten the lengh of an average labour by
as much as half, as well as I reduce the need for pain relieving drugs. |
